Fun Facts
Growing up, I was an avid reader and writer. Still today, I love these pastimes and read on a daily basis. Another passion of mine is music and I have practiced classical piano for twelve years. I also greatly enjoy cooking, going for runs, getting outside and hiking, and practicing yoga. I have also started studying French and aspire to become proficient in the language so I may live abroad someday.
About Me
I am a sophomore English Literature Major at Seattle University. In addition, I am pursuing minors in Business Administration and French Language. I am part of the University Honors Program and have been on the Dean's List since starting at SU in 2016. I plan on studying abroad in Grenoble, France in 2019. After graduating, I wish to pursue a masters in Literature and teach high school English.
Experience
Throughout high school I worked as a camp counselor at summer camps. Through this I worked with elementary and middle school students. Recently, I have tutored students in high school English courses. I love helping students work through literature and develop their own voice in their writing. Tutoring others is so fulfilling for me because it allows me to share my passion with others and help students to better understand themselves and the world through literature.
Approach
My teachers were always passionate about sharing the beauty and complexity that may be found in literature with their students. As a tutor, I strive to do the same by making literature accessible to students. I bring my love for reading and writing to tutoring and encourage students approach English more than just a school subject, but as applicable to their lives. I bring a positive and enthusiastic attitude to my sessions. I am very patient and seek to highlight students' individual talents.

I have completed my minor in Business Administration at Seattle University. I have taken classes in Economics, Accounting, Marketing, and Finance. Before studying English, I was a Marketing Major and held a marketing internship at Liberty Mutual Insurance.

I am an English major and have taken classes in Ancient Literature, Shakespearian plays, Victorian Literature, and Intercultural Literature. Furthermore, I am part of the University Honors Program where my writing and reading skills are continually improved and enhanced. In high school, I took AP English Literature and scored a 5 on the AP test. I am a strong writer and able to clearly explain the thematic topics required on the AP test.
