Fun Facts
Teaching and mentoring is my passion. I love interacting with my students and discussing their hobbies and the recent events in their life. Besides being a source of academic help, I aspire to lend some emotional support to my students so they can freely talk about any issues they have besides academic struggles. I believe, that students who easily unload the emotional burden they carry, they are less distracted and more focused.
About Me
I am a tutor and pursuing B.S.(I.S.) at UHV. I have been on dean's list three times. From an early age, I wanted to be an educator- teacher, tutor or a mentor.
I like to be a hands-on person who is willing to go an extra mile for the success of her students.
I have helped so many students over the years that I have lost count now. But nothing made me happier than to watch them succeed and achieve their academic goals.
Experience
I have 6+ years worth of tutoring experience in Elementary and Middle School math and English. I also have experience in High school reading and writing. I have prepared my students STAAR test as well.
Approach
I am a positive person and like to motivate my student to do their best. I focus on the strengths of the students and strive to help them overcome their weaknesses. I aim to instill in them the "can do" attitude and encourage them to think that nothing is impossible or unachievable.

Writing Tutoring
I have assisted middle school students to develop their writing skills to write better essays. I like to incorporate free writing in my tutoring sessions for students who come specifically for improving their writing skills. Free writing is great at helping the creative juices to flow and overcome the writing block that students face.
Math Tutoring
I have experience in teaching mathematics to young children because they ask questions and for the most part, they are uninhibited. I like to find answers from their questions, leading them to mathematical concepts and reinforcing them with lots of practice.
Elementary Math Tutoring
Young children are amazing and teaching them math is so much fun. I incorporate a lot of fun scenarios to explain mathematical concepts. I encourage my students to take up any math problem as a challenge and give it their best!
English Tutoring
