Fun Facts

Since I have moved to Texas, I cannot get enough of site seeing here! I am always the first one to take advantage of a short weekend away to camp, explore new small towns, hike in Hill Country, or travel to see a great Texas Country band at a small venue. Luckily, because of its size, I won't be running out of places to explore in Texas anytime soon!

About Me

I graduated from Texas Christian University in May 2012 with a B.A. in Spanish and minor in Educational Studies. I currently work full time as a college and career planner and hope to pursue my Master's of Education in Higher Education in the next couple of years!

While studying Educational Studies at TCU I had the great opportunity to mentor and tutor students of all ages from elementary through high school. My most recent tutoring/mentoring position was during my last semester at TCU where I worked with an elementary after school program to help students with homework/reading/and other activities. However, I have also worked with middle and high school students as well.

During my studies of Education at TCU, I really came to love the theory of self-efficacy as a main source for becoming and staying successful in school. Believing in oneself, in my opinion, can be one of the most powerful motivators throughout ones education. I want not only to help students through tutoring, but to also implement a self-efficacy statement in themselves when it comes to being successful in school. While the notion of "believe in yourself and achieve" is quite cliche, it has always been one of my most powerful motivators throughout my studies and I want to pass that down to students I have the opportunity of tutoring.
