Fun Facts

I have a great love for music and history. There isn't a genre of music I don't like, and my desire to learn of our predecessors doings is insatiable. I have a penchant for listening to opera and enjoy reading. I am the 2nd eldest son of five. Although I've studied the German language for about 8 years, I have never set foot in Germany. I've traveled to Mexico and Honduras, and I've lived all my life in Texas. I'm multilingual, mastering English,Spanish and German.

About Me

I am a college graduate, receiving my BA in German with a double minor in Spanish and International Studies in December of 2016. I've studied the German language,culture and history for the entirety of both my college and high-school life. During my years at the University of North Texas, I served as a volunteer tutor for Philosophy and Political Science and as a paid tutor for German 1 through 4. From 2014 until 2016, I served as a Student Ambassador for the language department at UNT.

Experience

During my college years, I had tutored undergraduate students in Philosophy, Political Science, and German. During the summers when I wasn't studying, I served as a program assistant in a STEM summer program here in my hometown of Houston. For three years, I served as a mentor and supplemental instructor for 8th through 12th grade students throughout the three month program in houston">the houston">University of Houston-Downtown. I also assist my younger three siblings with their homework when they need guidance.

Approach

I've come to learn in my years of working with students that people learn in different ways. People have different backgrounds, and as a result, their passions are scattered and nonuniform. I believe if one can tap into the interests and ambitions of the student, teaching them the material becomes less of a chore for them, and more of a wondrous experience. I hope to help my students enjoy the process of learning and I will strive to help them mirror the passion I have for my areas of expertise.
