Fun Facts
One fun fact about me is I am a very active person. I've been doing acro yoga for a year and a couple of months and just started to learn hula hooping including learning tricks. Additionally I just started doing lyra aerial hoop. I love challenging myself to different poses/ tricks in each of my exercises. Also I really love the outdoors including hiking and camping. I also enjoy thai massage and am learning it. Someday I hope to teach one of the activities I'm most passionate about on the side.
About Me
I am a graduate from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and Gonzaga University. I have two degrees including a B.A. in Applied Communication and a MPH in Community and Behavioral Health. My ultimate professional goal is to either become a health education program specialist and work on various projects with different organizations or become a health coach and works individually with clients.
Experience
I have some recent experience tutoring. Recently I helped a graduate student with editing her thesis. I was also involved in the International Student Union club in college and helped international students learn English during an activity called conversational partners. As a person who really misses direct service and is extremely passionate about education, this job would allow me to develop skills in working more directly with youth and impact their lives, something I truly miss.
Approach
I've always been passionate about education and helping others. Tutoring has been a great outlet for me in terms of balancing personal interaction with data evaluation, my current temporary job. When I was younger I definitely struggled with certain classes because of the teachers or their learning style. I want to work with the student and be as encouraging as possible and help them gain the confidence they need to succeed in school.

MastersCommunication Tutoring
I was an Applied Communications major at Gonzaga University. I received A's and B's in my communications classes and took some of the following classes: persuasion, communication theory, interpersonal communication, intercultural communication, nonverbal communication. I even wrote a thesis on provider- patient communication where I explained the environmental determinants that affected communication between doctors/ care providers and patients.
Graduate Level Writing Tutoring
As a communication major, all of my classes involved writing to persuade my audience. Most of my homework in graduate school also involved all writing. I took the following classes in college and grad school: English, English II, program planning, evaluation, assessment. Recently I have been finishing helping a student write her graduate thesis.
Nutrition Tutoring
One of my previous jobs was a nutrition education program coordinator. I also have volunteered with several nutrition education organizations.
Sociology Tutoring
I've taken a variety of classes relating to the social sciences both in college and graduate school. I really loved my sociology classes and received an A.
Spanish I Tutoring
I'm an intermediate Spanish speaker and have been speaking Spanish since 2nd grade in school. I understand the basics and would love to help the the student love learning another language. One of the best ways I've found to learn another language is cultural immersion.
Spanish II Tutoring
I'm an intermediate Spanish speaker and have taken both Spanish I and Spanish II.
Study Skills Tutoring
Study skills are important to helping the student succeed. I want to work with them to see what study methods work for them and help them make a plan to stick to it.
Writing Tutoring
I'm a really great writer and have written a variety of reports, essays, program plans, and evaluation plans. I understand how to structure an essay and have recently been helping a graduate student review her thesis.
Biology Tutoring
Biology was my favorite subject. I definitely would love tutoring students in this subject.
ESL Tutoring
I really enjoy working with international students and helping them work on their English.
Religion Tutoring
I went to a religious highschool and college and took religion classes.
Science Tutoring
I always loved learning science! It was one of my favorite subjects in school and i always did well in class.
Spanish Tutoring
I've been speaking Spanish for a while and would love to help students learn Spanish. I want to apply the learning techniques that I had in school that made learning another language fun including cultural immersion.

ACT English Tutoring
I was involved in singing both in highschool and college. I love to sing and would love to work with the student and help them prepare their music piece and work with their individual voice.

I understand basic Excel and definitely feel confident in teaching someone how to use commands, develop pivot tables, and graph.
