Fun Facts
I am a trivia buff! I can see one scene frame and immediately know what that movie is, or throw down for 7pm Jeopardy. I am always looking to fill my brain with more random facts, so teach me what you know!
About Me
I am originally from New York. I went to Washington University in St. Louis and graduated in 2015. I am currently a middle school math and technology teacher in Richmond, California, where I now live.
Experience
I have been tutoring since I was in high school. In high school I was a member of National Honor Society and Math Honor Society. I was also in the chemistry club. I tutored younger and same aged classmates in every school subject, including Spanish and Italian. In college I tutored through an organization called "Each One Teach One." Now I am a middle school math and technology teacher, but I also math and ISEE test prep tutor in my free time.
Approach
My approach as a teacher and as a tutor is to make the material relatable to my students' lives. The methods of old are no longer necessarily applicable to every student, and every child learns differently. I get to know my students and how they best learn so that I can be the best possible tutor for each and every student.

Homework Coach Tutoring
I am currently a tutor for numerous students, where my main responsibility is test prep and homework help. I like to redirect students in their work without giving answers, which often looks like teaching students how to check their work and self-monitoring methods so that they can self-regulate. Also as a math teacher I am constantly helping my own students with their homework during lunch and after school.

The students that I tutor outside of school are all in private school, which means that they take the ISEEs. Last year I helped 2 of my students study for their tests, and both students increased their math scores 3 deciles.

ACT Math Tutoring
When I took the ACT I scored a 32 (out of 36) on the math portion (my overall score was a 34). I would feel well prepared to teach your child the best tips and tricks on top of the math itself to ensure a high score. I myself had a tutor for the ACT math, so I know the best ways to help a student in that regard.
