I have recently moved over to Kansas City, Brisbane Australia where I have been for the last 20 years. I am one of seven children equipping me with the necessary tools to deal with a variety of personalities. I have a passion for drama and writing and hope to channel these interests to assist me in earning a bachelor of Journalism majoring in Secondary Education.

About Me

I studied one of year of a bachelor of nursing at Queensland University of Technology, during this time I worked as a teacher aide at a special needs school where I discovered my passion for teaching. I worked full time at this school in 2017 and moved to Kansas City in December, where I hope to commence university at the beginning of the fall semester.

Experience

In 2017 I worked as a teacher aide at a special school, where I was able to assist in teaching a variety of special needs children and was given the opportunity to work one on one with children who had disabilities ranging from learning or physical to behavioural.

I have 2 years of experience in tutoring where I gained a cliental of 8 students, ranging from students with learning disabilities, Elementary school in every subject area and high school students specialising in English, Reading.

Approach

I believe every child has what is necessary to succeed. Some, however, require extra attention and work to unlock their potential. Throughout high school I was one of these students, and my teachers gave me the patience, understanding and time in order for me to thrive. Everyone has a different way of learning, and I believe that it is necessary to get to know each student individually so as to equip them with the necessary study and learning techniques required for them personally to succeed.
