Fun Facts
I am the youngest out of three, and have lived in California my entire life. I love board sports like surfing, skating, and snowboarding. I'm the only person I know with two middle names. In my free time, I enjoy creating graphic design artwork.
About Me
I am a Financial Mathematics and Statistics major at University of California, Santa Barbara. I am a Regents Scholar through the university and a Kershner Scholar through my fraternity. Someday I hope to finish the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) exam and work in the finance industry.
Experience
I have been unofficially tutoring since high school when I started the math club. In my junior year of high school, I spent 2 months volunteering at a nearby middle school to help kids learn math skills. I started a youtube channel to help teach statistics lessons, which have become surprisingly popular.
Approach
When it comes to the STEM field, especially math, I have found that some kids believe they lack the innate ability to succeed, but that is simply not true.
I have found that every person has different learning styles (usually verbal, visual, or tangible) and that a lack of self confidence arises when someone is taught via a method that does not connect with them. My approach is to first build confidence, identify which learning style is best, and then apply that learning method specifically.
