About Me
I am a Junior at the University of Arizona double majoring in English and Creative Writing emphasizing in Poetry. I was awarded the Arizona Excellence Award and Scholarship in 2011 and have continued to keep it throughout my College experience. I am an aspiring English teacher and hope to one day become a Principal.
Being the oldest daughter and granddaughter of my family, I have always helped my younger sister and cousins with their homework--especially with reading and writing. As they have gotten older, I have enjoyed seeing them progress and improve in these skills. As an English major living in a house full of Business and Accounting majors, I find myself constantly proofreading and editing essays which keeps my grammatical skills on point!
I tend to think of myself as a person who can gage other's feelings very well. If I sense any sort of confusion while going over the tucson">tutoring topic, I make a point to ask the student what exactly they are confused about and go from there. It is important to do so in an inviting and helpful manner--not overbearing or intimidating. I have appreciated teachers in the past who are able to sense when something isn't being explained clearly, rewind the lesson, and start from a different approach.
