Fun Facts
I am an ice-cream extraordinaire and spend a lot of my spare time hiking, swimming or playing sports. I enjoy volunteering and traveling! Working with youth, traveling and art are my biggest passions. My favorite Country is India, I had the opportunity to do a volunteering program there 2 years ago and I fell in love with the people and culture.
About Me
I am originally form Mexico City, I grew up playing basketball and swimming. I moved to LA in 2011 for College and graduated with a Bachelor on Fine Arts.
Experience
I have been a camp counselor, tutor, sports instructor and a nanny. I have tutored students, helped them prep for tests, and with their homework in various subjects (Spanish, Geography, English, History). Additionally, I had the opportunity to tutor with Reading Partners, helping children strengthen their reading skills to explore and master new subjects.
Approach
For the most part I was considered a good student up until I started struggling with math n middle school and my family decided to find a tutor for me. A few months after I started my tutoring, grades started going up and so did my confidence. I understand how everyone learns differently and having an encouraging and supportive teacher that is patient and understanding can help students gain confidence and thrive.

Throughout my years of high school, college and after I have always been interested in different religions. I have taken several classes, studied different religions around the world and I continue to expand my skills by taking classes or reading.

I have experience as a nanny for children all ages. In my years of experienced I have helped with their homework in different subjects.
I always encourage them to get organized and break down homework into manageable steps. I provide support whenever they hit bumps, and I work with them and explain things in different ways to see which one is easiest for them. My goal is to provide the student the right tools and confidence fro them to create their own homework strategies.

I have worked with students from different backgrounds and learning methods that require differnet strategies.My experience has given me perspective on how to find the right approach for each and every student based on their learning process to provide the tools they need so they can reach their full potential.

I've found that the two best supporting tools to learn any language in a conversational level are books and interests in common. I love reading and would love to share some good books in Spanish to talk about!

I have been in art programs since middle school and I am very passionate about it. In high school I went to an art focused program that allowed me to work on my skills and learn different techniques. Additionally, I decided to Major in Fine Arts when I went to college.

I grew up with ADHD and went to a very conventional school that didn't provide different tools or resources for kids like me . I became an expert in creating strategies and studying skills that where considered out of the box but proved to be very effective.
I believe the best way to study is the one that a person is comfortable with no matter how different.
