Fun Facts
I love to paint, draw, take pictures and play basketball. As my stress relief from studying, you will always find me in the gym or doodling with a pencil and paper in hand.
About Me
I am an incoming junior at the University of Texas at Austin studying Advertising and Psychology with a science/texas/fort-worth">computer science certificate. When I graduate, I hope to find a job in the UI/UX field where I can incorporate my artistic skills and knowledge of people to design apps and websites.
Experience
I was a tutor at Kumon Math and Reading Center for a year, I helped many children from ages 4-17 with their assigned worksheets. I was able to help students with learning disabilities as we found that they only responded to me, I was patient with them and made learning fun! I taught children at my church, Good Shepherd Catholic Church. I taught during Vacation Bible School, Family Faith Formation classes, and middles school youth group classes as well.
Approach
I find that in today's time, there is too much pressure on students to perform rather than to learn, not seeing that they go hand in hand. I find that everyone is capable of enjoying school, it is simply about the approach and understanding each student's learning style is very important. I love to make learning fun for students, and make them actually look forward to learning rather than dreading it. As to how I go about that depends on the student, ranging from incorporating art to challenges.
