About Me
My Bachelor's degree is in Film television and radio and I spent some time working in advertising. After that, I was the personal writer for the CEO and President of a large company for a number of years. Beyond all of this, I was a full-time teacher and then started tutoring, teaching and mentoring students at all levels, even through college. I am moving toward becoming a college professor.
Experience
I've had just about twenty two years teaching, tutoring and mentoring students. I especially enjoyed teaching foster kids (Americans Orphans) but we don't keep them in an orphanage. Rather, they are shuffled from one home to another and can never quite find a place to call home. I really enjoy mentoring students in life skills and love to watch students expand their horizons through learning. All of my teaching experience makes me ready to handle most any tutoring challenge.
Approach
One thing I've learned is that I am not anybody's google answer man. Instead, I take delight in leading and guiding students into finding the answers and, more importantly, the understanding, they seek. I have learned many modalities of learning (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, intuitive and so on) and I try to take note of what modalities work best for each of my students. I sincerely believe that using what works for you is where the rubber meets the road in learning.

Anatomy Physiology I Tutoring
i took Anatomy under a Doctor of Anatomy at a Community College where we went over every layer --outside in-- of the human body. This was followed by dissection of two human cadavers in order to pursue my career in Ultrasound Technology. This direct experience has enabled me to assist college students in putting all the complexities together, as a tutor to a student.
AP English Tutoring
Since my emphasis for my major is "screen writer", I must be excellent in all English writing, all of it. I've also done some copy writing. No student I've ever had laced for any good improvement!

Pre Algebra Tutoring
I took High School Algebra, I and II in high school and later refreshed myself at a community college by taking college algebra. Since I don't use algebra in much of my daily work, I am constantly reviewing and refreshing myself in Algebra so I can effectively understand what the student faces with EVERY PROBLEM -- I have successfully helped many students improve their grades. Currently, I have refreshed myself in Algebra I and I will add Algebra II, Geometry and College Algebra as I do this faithful work of review for the student's benefit.
Science Tutoring
I've done especially well tutoring Earth Sciences, Biology, and Anatomy as per my background in ultra sound studies and a hobby with Geology. Every student I've had has gone on to do well.
Biology Tutoring
I took extensive science classes, especially as I added to my Bachelor's degree and mastered ultrasound technologies, which included biology, anatomy and physiology (including dissecting two separate cadavers). I'm able to give all my students a real experience of Biology to help them move forward.

I have tutored many middle school students in advanced math, even pre-algebra and algebra I using all kinds of different approaches that would fit the student. All of my students always improved their grades!
