Fun Facts
I am a 2017 graduate of Denver School of the Arts vocal music department, and I am an opera singer! I started my time at CSU as a music therapy major, but I ultimately decided to focus on my dream of being a doctor. As a Coloradan, I love skiing and hiking, and I love tennis, though I don't get to play nearly enough. I am a horrible dancer, scared of frogs, and love being outdoors!
About Me
I am a sophomore at Colorado State University studying Human Development and Family Studies with a pre-med concentration. I am a proud colorado native, a 2017 Boettcher Scholar, a lover of all things math and science, and I am at CSU delving into research and taking classes to get prepared for medical school. It is my goal to study child development and work as a pediatrician and/or neonatal doctor!
Experience
I had the pleasure of tutoring in both a group and private setting for several years throughout high school, and I absolutely enjoyed it! I offered private tutoring in math (middle school algebra through AP Calculus), science (biology and chemistry) as well as AP U.S. History and AP World History. Through National Honors Society, I led group tutoring sessions in math, science, and english, and as an assistant choir director, I tutored in music theory and gave private voice lessons.
Approach
I love tutoring because it pushes me to better understand the different ways in which people learn. I strive to offer a laid-back and individualized approach to learning where students are encouraged to ask questions and learn however works best for them. I also hope to encourage success for students in multiple areas through helping to develop study techniques and organizational skills, and I am always providing individualized learning packets and a variety of outside resources!
