Fun Facts

I love to travel, read, and take long bike rides with my daughter. I am the youngest of six and traveled extensively while growing up with my family. Among my favorite places is my native country Ecuador, Italy, France, and Israel. While traveling, I quickly realized how important and fun it’s to speak fluent Spanish. Being able to speak another allowed me to become part of a new culture, and appreciate different cultural aspects of each country.

About Me

I am a committed bilingual communications professional with more than a decade of success in developing health communication campaign materials for government contractors and nonprofits and I love the work I do. I appreciate working with people with a vision of change. I am good at communicating with people and I strive to build a positive rapport with the students I work with and I become very invested in my them, ensuring that their success and academic goals are always top priority.

Experience

Throughout my career I tutored young students ranging from first grade to fourth grade in all subjects. I mostly tutored in Spanish, math, reading, and forming good study habits. The students I worked with were local from various cultures, with different levels of skill in the English language. I also tutored several elementary age Hispanic students, practicing conversational English and working on their full range of coursework.

Approach

Seeing the positive outcome of my young daughter, it has influenced my tutoring approach, and inspired me to become a tutor for other students. My tutoring approach varies with each student, I observe the student and work to build a healthy tutoring relationship of trust in order to make the student feel comfortable and to ensure optimal outcome.
