About Me
I am a recent graduate from the University of California, San Diego, where I attained a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. I have three years of tutoring/teaching experience and am capable of helping others reach their academic and personal goals. Teaching is a passion and hobby of mine and I truly love helping others learn and improve.
I have tutored/taught SAT prep courses for Kaplan Test Prep Company for two years. I worked with small groups of high school students and tutored on an individual basis as well. I also have experience tutoring high school students in AP Physics. My strengths are in teaching physics and chemistry from my studies in Chemical Engineering.
My approach is three-pronged. I first like to go over important and fundamental concepts that are needed to understand and work problems. I then show/demonstrate how to approach and solve representative problems that students can expect to see on exams. Finally, I allow students to apply the techniques I have shown them on their own as I guide them and ensure they are on the right track. This three-prong approach builds a student's critical thinking skills and confidence in tackling difficult problems. All in all, I believe positivity, concept reinforcement, and hard work are crucial in any student's success.
