Fun Facts
I love weightlifting and crossfit! I also love traveling. In Summer 2016, I got a chance to visit Zimbabwe, Botswana, and South Africa to visit family and I look forward to going back soon in the future!
About Me
I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Government and Plan II Honors. I also have a Masters in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Middle School Mathematics from the University of Missouri, St. Louis, and a Masters in Education in Mind, Brain, and Education from the University of Texas at Arlington. I am a former middle school teacher and I currently work in education non-profit with students across the Fort Worth area.
Experience
My career in education started as summer teacher when I was in college, working with middle school students on the path to college. After graduating high school, I became a full-time classroom teacher in St. Louis, teaching Pre-Algebra and 7th grade mathematics. I have also tutored several students in the Aledo/Weatherford area for the past couple of years in various subjects such as math, ELA, Spanish, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. In my current work, I oversee curriculum and instruction.
Approach
I am passionate about helping students and as a tutor, I am all about building relationships and highlighting student strengths while fostering a growth mindset. It is important that students are engaged in the material, seeing how to apply knowledge to everyday life, while having fun in learning.
