About Me

I am trying to achieve my bachelors in chemistry to continue to obtain my PhD and become a professor, but for now I enjoy chemistry in school. In school I have worked in two different research projects and participated in NSF founded summer research program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I have also presented my research in multiple conferences around the United States. I am also the president of the Barry Chemistry Club, an America Chemistry Society (ACS) scholar, and a Gamma Sigma Epsilon member. .

For the last two year I have miami">tutor general chemistry and introduction to biochemistry. During my miami">tutoring hours I tried to explain students concepts which they were struggling with and improve their problem solving. I am also a lab assistant at Barry University and I help set up and perform experiments for general chemistry, and organic chemistry. As a lab assistant I am responsible for the safety of all my students and the success of their experiments.

When I miami">tutor my students I first figure out their strengths and weaknesses in order to know where to focus my time. I figure out their level of comprehension by assigning them three problems of increasing difficulty. According to how fast and well they are able to solve the problems I am able to set up a plan help them. As a miami">tutor I like to relate concepts to simple ideas which students can easily visualize. For example when I go over limiting reagents I tell them to picture they are trying to make burgers but they only have five buns and six patties and ask them which is the limiting reagent. Because I notice when students relate to a topic they learn better and faster.
