Fun Facts

My favorite things to do are hang out with my family and friends, especially my grandson. He is four and we have so much fun together. I have several passions. Traveling, Disney ,and scrapbooking. I have been to over 20 countries and have gone to Disneyland, Disney World, Paris Disney, and Tokyo Sea Disney. I'm really looking forward to going to Hong Kong and Shanghai not only to see the wonderful sites, but also to go to the Disney Parks there!

About Me

I am a retired teacher of 30 years and just opened my own business. I own Wisdom Prep which is an intermediate school for grades 3 - 6. I also tutor Chinese students through an online format.

Experience

I have taught grades 3 - 8 all subjects, over the past 30 years. I have taught in Montana for 25 years and in Texas for the last 5. I graduated from MSU-Billings with a BS in Education and from walden University with a master's in literacy education.

Approach

My approach to teaching is quite diversified. I feel the best approach to teaching is to get to know the student and build a relationship where the student feels safe and comfortable to ask questions, fail, and try new things without criticism. I also feel my position as a teacher is to be a guide, to allow for student centered learning as well as project based learning. After 30 yrs of teaching, I have taken the best of several approaches to create my own style.
