Fun Facts
I tend to consider myself a well-rounded person with a wide variety of interests and hobbies I pursue. I play two wind instruments, the clarinet and tenor sax, well enough that I was considered section leader of woodwinds in high school and first chair on both of those instruments. About Me
I'm currently a Freshman at Roosevelt University, a private university located in downtown Chicago that has a focus on social justice. I also plan on pursuing two majors, and as of right now I'm declared in Political Science and Journalism, but the latter may change to something more pliable in the current job market. Ultimately, I plan on becoming a state representative or a senator.
As a senior in high school, I helped my mother's co-worker's daughter when she was struggling in her 8th grade English class. We met twice a week and I basically reviewed with her the homework she was assigned and went over key concepts the teacher gave me. With only a few weeks left in the semester, I was able to help her get her grade up from a D- to a passing C.
As a chicago">tutor, I believe that the first person who has to be motivated is the student. If they don't WANT to do better, they won't. That's why one of the biggest jobs of a chicago">tutor is to be a motivator. I also believe that the first step in mastering a subject is memorization, although it is not the most important. It's simply a stepping stone into cognizant understanding. Once a student has the information memorized, they must successfully apply it to demonstrate complete comprehension of the material they once struggled with.
