Fun Facts
I am very fond of playing guitar, so in my free time that is usually what I am doing. Both of parents were in the Army, giving me the opportunity to travel abroad, with the majority of my time being in Germany and Maryland. Due to my extensive time in Maryland, I have became a strong home state football fan, meaning I am a Ravens fan all the way.
About Me
I am 22 years old and currently attending UMUC (maryland">University of Maryland University College) for my MBA with a focus in Accounting and Financial Management. I received my bachelor's degree at UMBC (maryland">University of Maryland-maryland/baltimore">Baltimore County) in Economics. I attended Charles Herbert Flowers High School in springdale">Springdale, MD. During my attendance at CHFHS I was a part of the science and technology program.
As a part of this program, students are allowed to take advanced level courses, such as AP Biology, AP science/virginia/washington-dc">Computer Science, AP Literature, Engineering Foundations, and honor classes such as; Honors Physics, Honors Biology, Honors Chemistry, and Honors Organic Chemistry. My strongest subject was always math in which I completed 4 years of, finishing with Pre-Calculus.
Being the top student in my Physics, Biology, and Math classes, many students asked me to help them understand the concepts. I aided in many ways, such as helping them solve similar problems, I would also explain the mechanics behind the solution if there were other possible ways of solving it. If they still had an incorrect answer, I would review the process step by step until they find the flaw in the logic they used to conceive the answer. I would repeat this process until they understood how to solve the problem with little to no difficulty. I have found this method very useful and continue to use it in my washington-dc">tutoring.
Experience
As an upperclassman, I was able to washington-dc">tutor and offer guidance to those students who either just did not understand the topics at hand or had difficulty grasping them. These classes were either mathematics based or economics. After my washington-dc">tutoring sessions, students obtained a better understanding of the topics and were able to succeed.
Approach
The best way I feel to approach any form of washington-dc">tutoring is to take a pace that the student feels comfortable and break each session into smaller easy to handle pieces. This allows the student not to become overwhelmed of the topic and makes it easier to learn. Another aspect I bring to my washington-dc">tutoring is patience, you cannot get angry and impatient with a student because they are not comprehending you must take a moment and devise a new more effective plan how to tackle to problem.
