Fun Facts
My mom is a teacher, my dad is a teacher, my sister is a teacher. I am the only one in my family that for a long time worked in corporate but I have decided to pursue my passion for teaching.
I love running and I'm always training for some Spring or Fall big race such as a half marathon. I once ran the NYC Marathon.
About Me
I am originally from Mexico and have been living in the US for over 18 years. I have many years of experience in the corporate world where I held positions ranging from Operations, Supply Chain and Finance. I have decided to change careers to pursue my passion for teaching, and share my knowledge of Math, my favorite subject, or Spanish, my native language.
Experience
I am a Finance and Supply Chain professional with over 20 years of experience primarily in the Finance and Supply Chain areas in manufacturing, information and retail industries. I hold a Masters of Business Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering. I have recently decided to change careers and follow my dream job where I can fulfill my passion for teaching and helping others to learn something meaningful.
Approach
I always loved numbers. I used to help (tutor) my friends in High school when they were struggling with Algebra, Trigonometry and Calculus. I decided to get an Engineering degree and later I switched to the Finance corporate world, all Math related.
I want to have the feeling of contributing to the world and help students improve their grades and understanding of the subject. I also want to apply the life coaching skills I've been learning to help them unlock their potential and confidence.
ESL Tutoring
Over 18 years using English as a second language. I learned ESL in Mexico before moving to the US. Passed the TOEFL test and will be very happy to share with others my experience and language knowledge.
Finance Tutoring
Over 12 years of progressive professional experience in Finance. Including Finance business partner for Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement and Marketing as well as Financial Planning and Analysis.
International Studies Tutoring
I learned the theory of International Studies as part of the MBA curriculum. I worked more than 12 years for a global corporation that originally hired me in Mexico and transferred me to New Jersey and during my tenure there I had to deal with people from many different countries.
