Fun Facts
My passions are reading (all sorts of literary fiction, with a special love for noir), movies and film history and jazz music! I'm also a food nerd and a great restaurant recommender if you live in Los Angleles!
About Me
I am a recent graduate of Columbia University's Masters Program (MFA - Film and Business) where I took classes at Columbia Film School as well as Columbia Business School. I taught undergraduates at Columbia, film history, during my three year academic career. I was a fellow and teaching assistant of the program for two years and won several academic awards. I enjoy teaching and my ultimate goal is to combine a career in film acquisition with university teaching.
Experience
- Graduate student instructor to undergraduate students at Columbia University (2015- 2018)
- Admissions coach and interview prep for the Columbia Film Masters Program (hired by Columbia University, 2017)
- Student volunteer instructor to underprivileged communities (I taught English to low income families as part of a rehabilitation program)
Teaching comes naturally to me and I enjoy the opportunity to engage and help my students.
Approach
My teachers and professors have been my biggest inspirations and have made the most impact on my development as a person and profession. Through their own knowledge, curiosity, research and structure, they have passed on values of dedication, a quest for knowledge and the desire to bring the material alive to my students while providing them with the skills to master their subjects.
