Fun Facts
I love watching reality court shows on YouTube. I always dreamed of going to law school, so it is a decent insight into what to expect and how to be objective. I also enjoy singing in my car at the top of my lungs. My usual genres are R&B and gospel.
About Me
I am currently a Doctorate of Pharmacy candidate at Texas Southern University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences with an expected graduation date in the year 2020. Born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Mr. Desbois has completed his pre-requisites for his current doctoral program at Houston Community College and Texas Southern University. He is the academic product of the Houston Independent School District. He attended Crispus Attucks Middle School and continued his education at the nationally-recognized Michael E. DeBakey High School for Health Professions. He strongly believes that leadership is not defined by what an individual does for his or her own aggrandizement, but how he or she impacts and interacts with his or her fellow leaders and the individuals he or she is leading. A leader should encourage others to use and hone their skills sets to ultimately make them more equipped for today’s job market.
Mr. Desbois is currently a campus-wide leader at Texas Southern University. He is the former chapter president of two national honors organizations: The Society of Collegiate Leadership and Achievement (which he founded on his campus) and The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS). After reviving the latter organization, he led the NSCS to be recognized as a top regional chapter within a year’s time. His leadership is also prevalent in the pharmacy realm as well. He served as his class’s first class president, while also serving as an officer for two nationally recognized pharmaceutical organizations. Eventually, his experience afforded him the position of being the chapter president of the nationally recognized Phi Lambda Sigma - Pharmacy Leadership Society on his campus. His desire to serve his community was quickly recognized thus leading to him being nominated to be a member of a prestigious pharmacy leadership society within his first semester of pharmacy school. He also serves on the Pharmacy Admissions and Advisory Committee at Texas Southern University.
As a tutor, he has a vast experience in tutoring students from Middle School, collegiate, and professional programs. Thus, this allows him to connect with students with various background. He utilizes a holistic approach to cover any gaps a student may have.
Experience
I have held scores of leadership programs that called for me to be a mentor to younger individuals. I have hundreds of hours of tutoring at centers for underprivileged students. I enjoy seeing the smile on my students' faces as they see they can actually do what they have feared for so long.
Approach
I am a very holistic tutor. I identify and fill in the gaps of knowledge a student may have. I believe there is a correlation between different subjects. I try to inspire the desire to learn no matter what the challenge is. I can be very challenging, but I usually can always bring a smile to my students face once they see they can solve a difficult problem.
