About Me
I graduated from San Francisco State University in May 2013 as a double major in History and Philosophy. I was on the Dean's List five semesters. I plan to eventually continue my education at a graduate level, and to work in an area of education.
For a year and a half I babysat a twelve year old girl once every week. I picked her up from school, fed her dinner, and then we would always work on homework afterwards. We worked on vocabulary, reading, multiplication exercises, class projects, and computer assignments. We'd also do activities such as trivia questions and word puzzles. I've also worked in an after-school program for children ages five to twelve, which involved a planned activity, reading, computer play, or personal homework help.
I like to have fun and have confidence in the student. I'll keep things on task, but without too much pressure. I like to empathize with the student. For vocabulary memorization I ask questions to help understanding. I've worked with the parent to use multiplication exercises and practice going and repetitious. I also communicated with the parent to track progress on projects.
