Fun Facts

One passion people quickly notice about me is that I love my family. I spend time with my family every spare moment I have. I love to sing, dance and read with my grandchildren. I am a native of Arizona. I have always loved singing. I grew up singing taking private lessons, singing in choirs and at church. Music is always a part of my day. Someday I hope to learn to play the piano.

About Me

I graduated about 15 years ago from Ottawa University. I worked day and night and achieved honors when I graduated. I was the first person in my family to graduate with a degree from a university. I love to learn and excelled as a student. My ultimate goal is to get my Master's Degree.

Experience

I am a 15 year teacher that has taught in the public and charter school settings. In the last five years, I have taught students that were second language learners in a Structured English Immersion classroom. I used data from students work and assessments to inspire them to achieve their academic goals through small group and one on one intervention. I love to work with students and see the excitement in their eyes when they learn something new or achieve the goal they were eager to reach.

Approach

During my last year of high school I struggled with achieving my goal of graduating. I needed extra credits in math. But math was a challenge for me. A teacher at my school helped me, no matter how many times I asked for help or challenged him with my math problems, he never lost faith in my ability to persevere. He taught me so much about facing problems head on and never giving up.
