Fun Facts
I am from Tulsa Oklahoma, but I moved to Denver for college and the mountains of course. I am an outdoor fanatic. I fly fish, snowboard, climb, and camp in any free moment I get. Currently I want to be a medical doctor but I still have dreams of being an astronaut.
About Me
I am about to start my second year as a biology major at the denver">University of Denver. Once I graduate, I hope to attend a MD/PHD program. I have received Dean's List honors for all three quarters of my first year at the denver">University of Denver.
Experience
My final year of high school I tutored boys at the Tulsa Boys' Home in Pre-Calculus, Algebra 1 & 2, Chemistry, and Biology for 3-4 hours a week. My final two years of high school I was selected to work in the writing center where I helped other students improve concepts and the flow of their writing. Finally, during the summers of 2016 and 2017 I volunteered at a girls' home and school in rural Tanzania, where one of my major roles was to tutor students in English and writing mechanics.
Approach
I wasn't very engaged in school until the 8th grade when my science teacher, Dr. Walker, evoked my love for the natural sciences. Dr. Walker's positive reinforcement and dedication made me realize that I could succeed in the classroom. Much like Dr. Walker, I engage my students with a dedication to improving their academic skillset and ensuring their understanding of concepts over of memorizing tons of facts. In doing so they will become a better student outside of the subject I tutor them in.

Biology I Tutoring
I am a biology major at the University of Denver. I am fascinated with all aspects of the field of study, from ecology to medicine. In my first year at university I received an A in the University of Denver's equivalent of Biology I. I have also tutored introductory biology in the past at a lower level, but nonetheless, most biological topics share many similar themes.
Calculus I Tutoring
Throughout my education, I have always been strong in math and science subjects. Calculus is a complex, yet functional form of math that is fundamental to almost all scientific fields. I took calculus I my first year at the University of Denver, where I received an A.

Calculus II is known to be much more tricky than calculus I, however, it is still an integral part to many scientific fields. I took calculus II my first year at the University of Denver, where I received an A.
Chemistry I Tutoring
I am a Biology major but I am minoring in Chemistry as well. A foundation is Chemistry is both essential to Biology and Physics. I took General Chemistry I my first year at the University of Denver, where I received an A.
Chemistry II Tutoring
I am a Biology major but I am minoring in Chemistry as well. General Chemistry II becomes much more conceptual than General Chemistry I. I took General Chemistry II my first year at the University of Denver, where I received an A-.
Pre Calculus Tutoring
I took Calculus I and Calculus II my first year at the University of Denver, completing both courses with A’s. Math has always been a strong suit of mine goes hand and hand almost all science and business majors. I have tutored students in the past in both calculus and pre-calculus.
Spanish I Tutoring
At this moment I would consider myself conversational in Spanish. In my first year I completed the 2000’s level of Spanish at the University of Denver, where I received all A’s. I am a Biology major at the University of Denver and hope to graduate with a minor in Spanish.
