Fun Facts
This might appear mundane, but I really enjoy sitting by the riverside and observing the ebb and flow of water. It is a great way to reflect on the fascinating realities of this world. However, when things get too philosophical, these sessions often end me up in an existential crisis! I hail from the beautiful country of Bangladesh, the land of rivers, and I went to an American school there. Currently, my favorite hobby is cooking!
About Me
I am a senior at New York University majoring in Physics and minoring in Math and Environmental Science. At NYU, I' am a member of the President Honors Scholars program, have appeared on the Dean's List, and served as an executive board member of the NYU Chemists' Club. I hope to work in water purification and waste water treatment and help provide clean drinking water to underprivileged communities
Experience
In my senior year in high school back in Bangladesh, I joined a volunteer tutoring program where I tutored math to sixth graders and chemistry to eleventh graders three days a week. In my sophomore year in high school, I was an assistant guitar teacher for a guitar elective available to high school students. Since coming to the U.S three years ago, I've tutored my cousin in algebra, English, and environmental science, and am currently preparing her for the SATs. In addition.
Approach
My approach to learning is based on understanding the basics and intuition behind a concept instead of simply memorizing methods to solve problems on exams. Because this approach teaches students the underlying mechanisms of a concept -- the why's and how's -- they are much better equipped to tackle ideas and problems than when they are simply reliant on methods and tricks. I really encourage my students to ask questions, so that they can gain a holistic understanding of the content.

College Algebra Tutoring
I've done algebra in high school and used the knowledge in my Calculus and Physics courses. My proficiency in algebra has allowed me to solve more advanced math problems efficiently. In addition, I have helped my peers understand algebra concepts while teaching them calculus and physics.
ESL Tutoring
I took two English writing courses in college. In both of the courses, I received an A. Both my proficiency in English and my background coming from a non-English speaking culture allows me to effectively navigate and relate to ESL students.
Math Tutoring
I have a math minor at NYU. The courses I have taken include Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III, and Linear Algebra. I have experience tutoring my peers in Calculus I and Calculus II.
Physics I Tutoring
I am a physics major at NYU. I am especially strong in Physics I, and I received a 100 on one of my midterms. Having constantly used Physics I concepts in the more advanced physics courses I've taken, it is a subject that I'm very comfortable navigating and explaining to a student.
