Fun Facts
I'm really good at handshakes! This summer while I was interning at a non-profit education program, I made secret handshakes with all of the third and fourth graders. We used them to say hello and goodbye every day!
About Me
I'm a senior Writing Seminars major at Johns Hopkins University. I've done exceptionally well as a writer, but currently I'm exploring my career options as in law and/or business strategy consulting. I'm sure that whatever job I choose, though, I'll always make time to continue my work as a freelance ghostwriter and copyeditor!
Experience
I have seven years of formal education experience across all grade levels. Subjects I have taught include geometry, world history, essay writing, piano, biology, and literature. I have also tutored students in SAT/ACT essay composition and I am a paid college application essay counselor.
Approach
The trick to education has never been making students learn formulas, vocab words, or historical dates and eras. Rather, true education focuses on having students learn to love learning itself. Through my seven years of classroom and one-on-one tutoring experience, I have discovered that personalized lesson plans, engaging material, clear instruction, and personal charisma have been invaluable for inspiring students to achieve greater understanding for themselves.
