Fun Facts

I am an avid two-stepper, so I go country dancing whenever I can. Cooking, reading, and dancing are my favorite hobbies. I've always been a lover of gymnastics, too. My motto is "it's not a problem; it's a challenge." I believe that anything and everything in life can be overcome with determination and hard work. It is a principle that has served me well so far, and I will continue to use it in my life.

About Me

I am a senior early childhood education major as Texas Christian University. I love kids, and I cannot wait to spend my life teaching them. When I graduate, I plan to become a teacher for elementary students. My favorite thing about working with kids is seeing their joy at discovering new things. I am continually inspired by the ability of children to find joy in the smallest moments, and I strive to embody that in my life as well.

Experience

I spent all of last semester tutoring a family of 3 children, all in varying elementary grades. In my classes, I have been instructed in countess instructional techniques that I cannot wait to put to use with your student. I have also had experience in real schools around Fort Worth for my field experiences, working one on one and in small groups. I have four years of experience working at a summer day camp with children ages 4-13.

Approach

My experience working at a summer camp has made me aware of all the diverse students that one can come across in a teaching atmosphere. I am a proponent of nurturing human nature in addition to the academic mind. Fostering growth of the student as a person, and not just as a student is something I believe in. I can accomplish this goal by teaching your student organizational skills and acting as a mentor. I am so excited to work with your student and help them grow as a learner.
