I was in the Navy for five years and have been around the world twice. I'm also a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan. I love long distance bike rides and reading.

About Me

I was born and raised in Rockport, Texas. I joined the Navy at age 18 and was in for five years. I'm currently a student at Del Mar College and will be transferring to Texas A&M here in Corpus Christi. I'm majoring in history to teach grades 9-12 and hope to further my education to a masters degree to teach college.

I taught Junior Achievement lessons at Grant Middle School. I also tutored several of my classmates in my history classes at Del Mar College. When I was in the military I helped several of my shipmates obtain their GED equivalent by teaching them study skills.

History and Social Sciences are fun to teach. Once you have a base of factual knowledge expanding on top of that with more information is easy. With all of this it makes it easy to learn and understand history; not just memorizing names and dates. I like to put events on a timeline and fill in the details until it makes sense.
