Fun Facts

I'm originally from the Bay Area in California and moved to Arizona four years ago. Growing up, I did over ten forms of dance from preschool through college including dancing internationally. At the age of 25, I decided to learn to play the ukulele which I continue to do in my free time. I started a photography company in 2008.

About Me

I have my M.Ed. in education/arizona/phoenix">Special Education from ASU and my Bachelor's in Child Development. I have an Arizona teaching credential in 1st-8th grade general education and K-12 education/arizona/phoenix">Special Education. I am currently in the process of obtaining my Arizona middle school and high school English teaching credential as well.

Experience

I have experience teaching 2nd-4th, and 7th-12th grades. I currently run the education/arizona/phoenix">special education department at a 7th-12th grade school as well as middle school honors.

Approach

Often in school there is so much to learn that students miss pieces or depth of curriculum. My hope is to always help fill in those gaps to help create a strong foundation. I am an out of the box thinker who learns by doing. This is how many of the students I work with think as well which allows me to connect with and understand them. I strive to help students find the way of learning that makes the most sense to them.
