About Me
I am a sophomore Environmental Science major at American University. I love math and although I do not have a declare minor in Mathematics, I am on track to obtain a minor in mathematic. I love science of all kind and I love to make other people love science. Besides academics I play four musical instruments including piano, guitar, cello and bass. I have played in multiple musical groups throughout high school and into college spanning genres from heavy metal, pop punk, rock and roll, jazz, folk, and classical music.
I have tutored students and friends in multiple subjects including music theory, biology, environmental science, math, and I have given lessons to multiple musicians on their respective instruments. I have tutored students as young as fifth grade all the way up to the college level.
My approach to washington-dc">tutoring is one that is based on fun and realistic goals. I gauge my washington-dc">tutoring to each student because each student is different. I am very patient and I understand that people learn different subjects in different ways. I usually assess a students learning style the first session that we meet and I tend base the way I teach that student on what I get from that first session. I really focus on making sure that the student is able to think out the answers to the problems that they are having with the material before I end a session. In this way I am very thorough and patient. I have not had any student come back saying they did not succeed in a class that I've tutored them in.
