Fun Facts

One of the things people quickly learn about me is that I'm a dog-lover. I love to read and watch movies in my free time. One of my favorite books is Where the Wild Fern Grows. Fashion magazines are my guilty pleasure. I'm an only child and I wish I had at least one sibling. I'm from Lincoln, Nebraska but I love Texas, especially the weather. I enjoy practicing yoga and occasionally go running outside. I don't play any sports, but I really want to lear how to play golf.

About Me

I am a sophomore at Texas Christian University. I transferred to TCU from the chicago">University of Chicago this year. I'm majoring in Political Science and getting a General Business minor. When I graduate, I hope to attend a great law school. My ultimate goal is to become a corporate lawyer.

In high school, the family I babysat for often asked me to help their children with their homework. I helped them with math, english, or just general organization. I also volunteered as an after-school tutor for anyone who was struggling in school as part of my National Honor Society membership requirement. I have worked on all subject areas, but I excel in English and Writing. I'm very excited to be a Frog Tutor and share my passion for learning with others.

My approach to tutoring is focused on positive encouragement. I believe every child with the right reinforcement and encouragement can succeed in school. I believe in guiding the student through the steps required to get to the right answer to any problem, instead of just telling them the answer. I think the key to success is to make sure the student has a good foundation and understands the basics before attempting to tackle harder problems. I encourage the student to ask questions when they don't fully understand something. I have always had great study skills in school and I feel that it is my responsibility to teach the student the study skills that are right for them, so they can excel in all of their classes.
