Fun Facts
I am very involved with my Polish culture. I love the Polish language and my heritage is very important to me. I love to dance and sing. I am a first generation college student. My parents immigrated from Poland when I was very young, but being in another country did not stop my love for my culture from growing. I am the middle child of five, and I have always been a family person. Family means trust and honesty, and those are aspects I live by.
About Me
I am a junior with a major in Applied Mathematics and a minor in STEM Education, attending the Illinois Institute of Technology. I have been on the Dean's List for the past two years in a row and plan on continuing that! When I graduate, I hope to start teaching and giving back to the community that enhanced my experience and intellectual growth. I would like to go back to get my Master's when it is possible, but ultimately I want to become a secondary and/or post secondary Mathematics teacher.
Experience
As a member of the Association of Women in Mathematics, I had the opportunity to tutor my peers in college. I have always been tutoring my peers and students in my high school experience. Ever since, I loved offering my knowledge to help someone better understand a topic that I am passionate about. I work with Golden Apple, so during the summers I attend Institutes where I teach, or co-teach a math course. These are thrilling experiences that I wish to continue! I love to teach and help out.
Approach
I love math, it has been something I have been passionate about ever since high school. Though it was hard to nourish my love for mathematics as a girl, I realized there are no limits to what I can do. As a tutor, I would like to instill that value in my students. Students are critical thinkers, and at this point they are revealing their potentials, someone just has to nurture it and give it the attention it needs to bloom. I want to encourage students to try their best because they are capable.
