I have experience helping students learn how to study and take notes. Each student learns differently, so I help the student discover what style works best for them and then we develop good methods for studying for information retention.

Writing Tutoring

I have taught writing skills to students. I help them discover the best way to get organized with ideas before the actual writing process begins. Then, the student can develop paragraphs as well as choose appropriate vocabulary and sentence structure.

Middle School Math Tutoring

I have worked with several middle school students and have had great success in helping them understand and succeed in grasping the skills needed to complete their math classes. I help students find the best strategies to give them the most effective way to understand their work.

Reading Comprehension Tutoring

I have helped students learn how to retain the information they are reading. Students learn to take notes to highlight the important areas of the text and also how to summarize what they are reading.

Elementary Math Tutoring

I have taught elementary math and also tutored students in this topic. Every student learns differently and my goal is to help each student discover their learning style in order to help make learning math more accessible. We work to find good strategies and interesting ways to learn the material.

ACT English Tutoring

I have worked with two students to prepare for the ACT English sections. One student increased his prior score by 5 points!!

I taught GED test prep class for two years. I am familiar with the test and how to best prepare students to take and pass the exams.
