Fun Facts
I am a complete band nerd. I played percussion in my high school marching band for four years and have continued in the concert band at Georgia Tech. I love volunteering at Children's hospitals in the downtown area and I am involved with clubs on campus that raise money for Children's Miracle Network. Also, I'm secretly addicted to Mountain Dew.
About Me
I am a first year at Georgia Tech, but academically, I'm a sophomore. My major is Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and I'm Pre-Med with a GPA of 3.8. As of now, I will graduate in May of 2017. Ultimately, I want to become a doctor, and more specifically, a Pediatric Anesthesiologist. In high school, I gained lots of leadership experience in the band, working my way through the ranks to end up as Head Percussion Section Leader. I also held leadership positions in my church youth group.
In high school, I tutored students ranging from elementary to high school. I mainly tutored math, but I also helped my peers on numerous occasions to edit essays for school and college applications. In addition, I am an excellent test taker, so I helped students with test prep and study skills.
My atlanta">tutoring approach is very fluid, with a few underlying principles. For all students, I act as a guide rather than a "shower". I like to ask questions that encourage the student to think rather than doing something myself. I also like to work off of what the student has already from class, rather than teaching what I think they should know. Other than that, I adapt my style of teaching depending on the student's personality and learning style, for no two students are alike.
