Fun Facts
I am a French horn player, and arts and creativity are a huge part of my personality. I have had many different kinds of gigs with my horn: from a high school orchestra to performing with semi-professional orchestras in Columbus, and from big band swing to a four person jazz combo. Aside from my musical life, I am also involved in sports. Since high school, I have had an intramural team for soccer at OSU that I’ve played with for the past three years. About Me
My name is Megan Adler. I am a 20 years old and attending university. Back in high school, I was enrolled in PSEOP, a program that allows high school students to take college courses for dual credit. My senior year in the PSEOP program I completed almost a full year of college courses and then transferred to the Ohio State University. Through the College of Arts and Sciences at OSU, I am pursuing a Bachelor of Music Education degree. Once I am certified, my degree will enable me to teach music classes for all students pre-k through 12 as well as substitute teach in any subject area. Currently I am a junior and will graduate Spring 2015; my most recent semester I achieved a 3.6 GPA! So far in my coursework I have observed and helped out in the classrooms over 100 hours through volunteering or my education classes. After I graduate, I plan to get the experience of teaching before I return to university for my Masters Degree. Aside for that plan, so far my only career goal is to be happy successful by combining both what I love and am talented at: music and teaching.

Repetition is the key for memorizing important facts and concepts.
After the student has organization and repetition of the facts, the next step in really learning the information is internalizing and synthesizing it. I am not concerned with whether the student can quote a book definition, but rather if they understand the concept in their own words. Having students provide personal examples for larger concepts is important too. If the material studied is more theoretical, like math, the end goal is for the student to be able to re-teach me the problem. Whe
