Fun Facts
One of my biggest passions is running. I am up every morning to run around my neighborhood with my two dogs, it is my favorite way to get moving and get them tired out too! I also love playing and watching basketball and football, and visiting museums around Richmond with my wife.
About Me
I am a second year Masters of Teaching student at VCU, working to become a high school biology teacher in the Greater Richmond Area. Ultimately I would like to be qualified to teach both regular and AP Biology, as well as Anatomy and Physiology.
I earned my Bachelors in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise from Virginia Tech. While there, I worked extensively in the New River Valley area to educate middle school and high school students on proper nutrition and exercise.
Experience
I have tutored students in math and science since high school, and volunteered through various organizations during my time as an undergraduate student at Virginia Tech to tutor middle and high school students in the Blacksburg area.
Approach
I have found that students' biggest issues in understanding science and math content comes from teachers only taking one perspective or approach to the material. Not every student thinks identically, so often they need to have an idea explained to them in a new way to truly grasp it. I excel at finding these different ways to explain a concept in order to build the strongest possible foundation for future knowledge.

Throughout high school and college I have taken and excelled in courses in algebra I and II, calculus, AP calculus, multi-variable calculus, vector geometry, and statistics. I have tutored students in algebra, calculus, geometry, and SAT Math prep, all to excellent results with noted grade improvement.

I have completed over 60 credit hours of biology courses, and am in the process of earning my Masters in Teaching to become a biology teacher. I earned high marks on all high school and college biology courses, and earned a near-perfect score on the Praxis Biology exam.

I completed my B.S. in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise from Virginia Tech with a concentration in Dietetics. I have completed courses in metabolic nutrition, human anatomy, food chemistry, and many more related classes.
SAT Math Tutoring

I have tutored students in algebra, calculus, geometry, and SAT Math prep, all to excellent results with noted grade improvement.
My personal score on SAT Math was a 750, and my GRE Math score was a perfect 170.
