Fun Facts
One of my biggest passions is yoga. I started a year ago and have sort of become obsessed with it as I try to go at at least 2-3 times a week. Along with this, I just started to incorporate meditation into my day, and have already noticed the benefits. I am also a HUGE soccer fan, particularly of Arsenal FC from the English Premiere League.
About Me
I graduated from Vanderbilt University in the Spring of 2013 with a major in Psychology. I finished with a 3.6 overall GPA and 3.6 major GPA. I am currently a graduate student at New York University where I am studying to receive a masters in social work. I am interested in the mental health field and hope to work in a community agency as a therapist when I graduate in May 2015.
During my time at Vanderbilt, I was involved in a program where we visited an inner city high school to manhattan">tutor freshman students in math. This was once a week, in a one-to-one setting. Furthermore, I was part of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Nashville, and served as a mentor to a 6th grade student for 3 years. This included meetings with the student once a week where manhattan">tutoring was a large focus. I really enjoy working with students and hope to continue this with Frog manhattan">Tutoring!
I am a big believer in developing a positive relationship with each student. While is important to have the necessary knowledge to be an effective manhattan">tutor I believe things such as a belief and commitment to the student are just as important. First and foremost I try to make it clear to the student that I am invested. In other words, to communicate that I feel personally responsible to help you and aid in your academic success. Furthermore, I try to relate to the student, find common interests, and to get the know student outside of an academic setting as I believe developing a report is essential.
