I make music and really enjoy listening and discussing my opinions on new records that come out. Aside from music though, I watch and play soccer a lot and love talking about the results of the weekend games. I also have three younger brothers and spend a lot of time watching them and taking care of them.

About Me

I am an education senior at UIC. My goal is eventually teach high school english in CPS. I want to be able to inspire and encourage young students to achieve their highest potential and goals.I was an RA for one year at Midwestern State University so I am well accustomed to leadership roles.

Experience

Having three younger brothers has given me a lot of insight and patience when trying to teach kids concepts or solutions. I also tutored high school freshman and sophomores, my senior year of high school which is actually the reason I ended up wanting to become a teacher.

Approach

As a student, I had a lot of trouble focusing on school and this showed in my grades. Over the course of middle and high school, I had many teachers that showed they cared about me and my success by spending a lot of time helping me grasp concepts and fully understand homework. This approach shaped how I chose to tutor my senior year of high school. I prefer to question students to help them come to the solution themselves and I really try to work on applying different learning styles.
