About Me
I am a 2018 graduate of Barnard College of Columbia University where I majored in chemistry. Right now I am applying to master programs in food chemistry or cosmetic science. I am the first in my family to graduate from college. My career goal is to pursue a research and development position in an industry that utilizes my laboratory or computational experience in organic chemistry.
Experience
As a member of the National Honor Society, I had the opportunity to tutor students weekly in all
subject areas during my last two years in high school. In college, I volunteered at Latinas On the Verge of Excellence where I mentored recent high school immigrant Latinas in the Bronx using both English and Spanish to facilitate workshops aimed at enhancing their personal and academic life. Working for Frog Tutoring gives me the opportunity to impact the lives of others who need help!
Approach
As a child, I struggled in school and found learning to be difficult. I never had tutors so I had always in life done everything the best I could. When I was in college, I had the chance to have a tutor who made me realize my full potential. He used positive encouragement and persistence along with a plan for each time we met so that I can get the most out of the tutoring session. I have learned a lot from him and hope to use the same approach towards my students.
