Fun Facts

Even though I spend a lot of time programming, I also love sewing! I've been making and customizing clothes and other accessories for years. I also try to escape the desert and head up to the mountains for some snowboarding whenever I get the chance.

About Me

I am a master's student in science/arizona/phoenix">Computer Science at Arizona State University. I currently have a 3.79 GPA. After college, I hope to teach science/arizona/phoenix">computer science or high school mathematics at an international school, allowing me to do what I love (teach!) while also getting an opportunity to travel.

I have experience teaching programming through ASU Programs for Talented Youth's "Learning to Program Using Ruby" summer course for 6th and 7th grade students. I have also worked for three semesters at Arizona State University as an instructor for entry-level freshman engineering courses. In this position, I introduced students to basic computing topics and helped my pupils develop study skills essential for a successful college experience, including time management, career development, and how to utilize library and internet resources.

As a learner, I find it easiest to understand concepts when they are tied in with real world examples. As a phoenix">tutor, I try to provide students with applications of the concepts they are trying to learn to not only help them see things more clearly, but also to excite them about the subjects they are learning about. Additionally, I make sure to give students clear, detailed feedback on their progress so that they know specifically what areas they understand well, and what areas they need to practice.
