Fun Facts
I like to constantly be learning about the world around me, particularly through reading articles. I also like to keep myself busy pursuing my goals; however, when I find pockets of time, I like to just take a moment for myself, sit down under a tree, and admire the wonderful world I live in.
About Me
I am a graduating senior at San Jose State University pursuing a BA in English with a concentration in Professional and Technical Writing. When I graduate, I hope to land a state job and then I would like to eventually open my own business.
Experience
I had the opportunity to tutor students with a nonprofit organization called Cal-SOAP (California Student Opportunity and Access Program) where there we focused on helping low-income students. I've always had a love for helping people out, especially kids, because I'm amazed at watching their personal growth. Working for Frog Tutoring will give me the opportunity to impact even more lives of students that need help.
Approach
As a child, I struggled in school and found doing homework to be difficult because my parents did not speak the language and could not help me. I had to rely on myself a lot, but when I got old enough I took the initiative to seek help from teachers. Finally, I received the helped I needed. As a tutor, I feel it is my responsibility to not only teach students the content, but also to teach them study skills that will later help them in the future.

English Tutoring
My degree is in English with a concentration in Professional and Technical Writing. We put a lot of focus on syntax, grammar, and punctuation. Throughout my college career I have taken all sorts of courses, from rhetoric to visual design of a document.

I've spoken Spanish all my life; however, I am familiar with Spanish taught in school. I tutored a high school summer program on beginner's Spanish a few years ago.

I took the AP exams, passed, and got credit for college.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
My degree is in English but part of what encompasses my degree is that I have a deep understanding of what is being talked about. My concentration is in Professional and Technical writing and in order to successfully communicate what the company/client needs me to, I have to make sure that I am comprehending their writing the way that it is intended to.
Spanish Tutoring
I've spoken Spanish all my life; however, I am familiar with Spanish taught in school. I tutored a high school summer program on beginner's Spanish a few years ago. And I have also helped tutored some students from local neighbors.
Study Skills Tutoring
I'm a graduating senior in college and part of my success is attributed to the study skills I have acquired. I have never gotten lower than a A- in my core classes and never lower than a B in my whole career.
