Fun Facts

In high school I played volleyball quite seriously, and I have recently began playing again. I must say I haven't lost too much skill! Over the summer, I picked up the guitar, and although it is difficult and takes much practice, I rather enjoy it. I also enjoy cooking, outdoor adventures (i.e. hiking and camping), practicing french, music, and dancing.

About Me

I am a recent graduate of Georgia State University. I participated in a study abroad program and in an undergraduate research forum. I hope to get my masters in Environmental Economics. My ultimate career goal is to work in solar power, waste management, or sustainability of forests, fisheries, or agriculture.

During my study abroad trip to Paris, I took a job as well. I worked with a company that assigned native-English speakers to French families who wanted their children to be exposed to a second language. I prepared lesson plans for each session and incorporated them into our daily routines. Also, I was a program specialist at a summer camp. I was given a classroom to teach the children about the nature around them. Each day, I classes of nine to twelve children ranging from the ages of nine to fourteen. Working with Frog savannah">Tutoring will round out my savannah">tutor/teaching experience.

I aim to be a helpful savannah">tutor that leads students to the answers by their own critical thinking rather than mine. When I was a student, I happily took any savannah">tutoring opportunity available to me when I was struggling. There were savannah">tutors that were quite helpful and encouraging. They guided me to the answers and aided my understanding of the material. However, there were savannah">tutors that seemed less interested in my success. They would just give me answers without helpful explanation. I avoided these savannah">tutors because they were not giving me the proper tools to achieve high scores and carry the knowledge throughout my life. I know the difference between a good savannah">tutor and a mediocre one. I hold my students' well being at heart.
