Fun Facts

I moved from the UK when I was 15 to Florida, where I was entered into the IB program at Winter Park High School. There I developed a love from Mathematics and problem solving which I have been developing ever since. In my spare time I write music and play Rugby. I recently moved to New York to pursue a Masters Degree in science/new-york/brooklyn">Computer Science at NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering.

About Me

I am pursuing a MSc science/new-york/brooklyn">Computer Science degree at the New York University Polytechnic School of Engineering, and currently have a 3.9 GPA after completing my first semester this past Fall. I expect to graduated in May 2015 and then hope to begin my career as a data analyst for a large company. I graduated from the University of Florida in 2012 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Mathematics and Physics.
Once I graduated from UF, I offered private one-on-one brooklyn">tutoring for college level Mathematics. I mainly taught college algebra and basic Calculus to incoming college freshman. In August, I moved to St. Louis, MO where I took a programming class at a local community college. I gave my details to the community college brooklyn">tutoring board (which was accessible to both the students of the community college and local high schools) to offer one-on-one brooklyn">tutoring for Mathematics and Physics. Once again, I found myself brooklyn">tutoring college algebra and calculus, but this time to a much more diverse clientele in regard to ability and age. My youngest student was a 14 year old girl in high-school and my oldest student was a 45 year old woman.
My approach is straightforward: Keep. It. Simple. The issue with most Math classes is that the teacher (and sometimes the student themselves) jumps ahead too quickly, not allowing to lay solid foundations for later material. I brooklyn">tutor by building from the bottom and implementing a "practice makes perfect" approach. The more problems you solve, the better off you will be. People will always be better at some subjects than others, but I have a firm belief that all can do well in Mathematics. Sometimes it just take a little extra work.
