Fun Facts

I've always been very adventurous, and curious. Just recently I made it a goal to visit all 50 states, and so far I've gone from just Texas to about 6, and I've got more trips planned next year. I was once incredibly afraid of riding rollercoasters, and now I travel to amusement parks to ride the scariest ones they have to offer. Overall, I'm always ready for new expeditions, excited to meet new people, and discover new lands.

About Me

I am a Junior Political Science major, and Business Administration and Spanish minor at Texas Christian University. I founded my own non-profit 4 years ago, which aims at aiding low-income children in the Dallas Area during the holiday season. The plan is to attend UT Law school and earn my MBA while at law school as well. My ultimate goal is to become a corporate lawyer, and grow my non-profit to reach out to more children and their families.

Experience

As a former tutor for middle school and high school students, I have experience working with students from all walks of life, and distinctive struggles with retaining or interpreting information. I have learned to adjust to the students method of learning, to motivate the student to not only memorize, but to learn and apply information. I am also the oldest of 3, so I've matured my patience for even the most unmotivated of students.

Approach

Considering my experience working with students, I would begin with assessing the type of student I am working with, so that I may adjust my teaching technique to compliment their learning style. I understand that some students struggle more with being motivated, so I plan to operate under the reward system, rather than punishing a student for not knowing. In regard to experience tutoring my younger sisters, at times being an encyclopedia of knowledge is very helpful to curious students
