About Me
I am a former Educator in Spanish/Bilingual classrooms from fifth to twelfth grades teaching students from military families to people from Nicaragua, Peru, Mexico, Columbia, Japan, Russia, Turkey, South Korea and were dedicated students. I love to work with learners because motivation keeps up success. I am from the border town of Brownsville, Texas and visited Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico very frequently, I love mariachis,Spanish Culture, good food, dancing and trying new things.
Experience
My first job at sixteen was at Baker's Shoe Store where I had to calculate Mexican Money value rate to U. S. dollar rate, the subtract how much I owed the customer in change. A challenge, but I did it. I was an administrative assistant for the Vice-chairman of the Appropriations Committee of the Texas House of Representatives Member where he was also an NFL Referee that put football on proper yard-lines for Dallas Cowboys. Attended college at age forty-three and graduated with a degree to teach.
Approach
I approach each student, individually, and gently, with encouragement, while I give visual, oral, tactile support with resources to clearly show the objective to be learned. I do my best in analyzing where the student is with objective and take him/her where she needs to be, slowly and a step at a time until he/she get's it, if you will. Interacting positively with the student in content conversation, together, hopefully, will make us that winning team for the student's success. Slow but sure.
