Fun Facts
I love to travel and have been many places. When I went to Iceland, I climbed a glacier and tried ice climbing. It was exhilarating! My family has always said that I am a bit of a gypsy because I have lived in many places. I think I would like to live overseas some day. My next trip is to South Korea to visit my son. He teaches English there.
About Me
I have been a Business Analyst for the past four years. I originally started out wanting to be a veterinarian. I found out early on that I was allergic to a lot of small animals so I changed plans. I say my career picked me instead of me picking my career as I found out that I was very good at different computer programs. I have been working in the IT industry for over 25 years.
Experience
I have worked in the IT industry for over 25 years. I have worked as a trainer or in a teaching capacity most of the time that I have been in this career. I have worked with people of all skill levels. I love helping people. I also babysit children and part of that role involves homework help. I like that I can impact the mind of a young child, even if it is only for a little while.
Approach
I think that all children have the ability to learn but sometimes they just need a little help. Some students are visual learners while some need to be walked through breaking down their subject matter just a little bit more into pieces that they can understand. This is where I come in. I can help them see what they might be missing or break it down into a more manageable format. I do this in my everyday business life with users at all skill levels. I would love to see my students succeed!

English Tutoring
I love English and writing. I have taken 18 hours worth of English courses in college. They range from just the basics, to literature and fine arts courses. I have also taken technical writing. I write technical documents and manuals in my professional life. I would love to help your student grasp the command of the English language.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
I was in Honors English throughout my scholastic career. I have read many novels and written many papers. I can assist your student with understanding what they are reading and how to comprehend what the subject matter is.
Study Skills Tutoring
Working multiple jobs and going to school takes discipline. You have to find a balance. This is where having good study skills comes in. I can teach your student how to find that balance.
Writing Tutoring
I write technical documents and manuals for my job. I have taken technical writing courses and multiple English classes. I have excellent handwriting and can teach cursive writing.
Elementary Math Tutoring
My last math class was College Algebra. I use math basics every day when processing things in Accounting. I also use Excel spreadsheets. I feel that I am well versed in current math topics to teach Elementary Math.
Spanish Tutoring
I have taken at least five years of Spanish courses. While in high school, I won awards for my abilities to speak, read and write Spanish. I feel comfortable working with students at an Elementary level with Spanish.

I have worked in the field of IT for over 25 years. Many of those years were spent on a help desk providing IT Support and training. I have provided classroom training in Microsoft Excel.
