Fun Facts
Writing has always been a passion of mine. I've been creating stories ever since I was 11. I've also found love for painting, which I've been doing for the last 3 years.
About Me
I'm currently a freshmen at UTSA and I'm an English/Creative writing major. I plan to also minor in philosophy and eventually become a paralegal. For a majority of my life, I was raised in Houston along with my 2 brothers.
Experience
I've never had any official experience in tutoring; however, I have assisted my classmates and friends with their own work throughout my years of high school. It's something I've always enjoyed and I have decided that it's the perfect time for me to get out and help even more students master their writing skills.
Approach
In my opinion, there is no "true" nor "definite" teaching regimen that works for everyone. I plan to take this into consideration and create a personalized approach for each of my students in a way that will most benefit them.

English Tutoring
Throughout my high school years, I've rarely had a grade less than an 85 in this particular subject. I also went to a very academically competitive school, meaning my 85 could quite possibly be an A at other schools. Since I am an English major myself, I'm extremely passionate about this and I put all of my focus into my work.
Writing Tutoring
I take pride in my writing and the highest grade I've ever gotten on a formal analysis paper was a 96. I've also helped my peers who, in the past, had gotten C's on their papers and brought their grades up at least 10 points.
ACT English Tutoring
When I took my ACT, I scored high on the English Reading and Writing portion. I have my own ACT book that helped me along with other sources that I can use in my sessions.

I've taken many STAAR tests throughout my academic career and have always done well on them.

Reading comprehension is another aspect of English that I love because you can find dozens of meanings in a simple phrase. This has been something I've always been skilled at, especially when it comes to poetry or books.
