Fun Facts
I love the outdoors! Hiking, camping, jetskiing, swimming, archery, and softball are some of my all-time favorite outdoor activities, but nothing beats a good walk in the sun! I'm all for creativity and letting it show, so I do some art work and writing when I'm not working hard to put myself through school.
About Me
I go to the University of Arizona (Go Wildcats!) and I'm a sophomore majoring in Creative Writing. After I finish my Bachelor's I'm going to be a high school teacher while getting my Master's in History and Education and eventually I plan to obtain a Doctorate in either English or History (I can't decide, they're both just so AWESOME). One day I hope to be able to write novels for adolescents and to inspire hundreds of people everywhere to have confidence in themselves and their passions!
So far I have been able to tucson">tutor three young people over the past four years. One was a tenth grade girl who had trouble with geometry. I was able to explain to her and help her apply all postulates and theorems that she had trouble with, allowing her to do better on her exams and her homework. Another was a twelve-year-old boy who had trouble with math and English. I was able to help him understand basic math functions and how to apply them to future lessons. I was also able to help him with his grammar and spelling. The last was a 10 year old girl who had troubles with science and spelling. Together we were able to motivate her to study her spelling using spelling rules. We were also able to understand her science studies a little better by doing observations of weather and erosion.
I try to make learning fun while encouraging the individual to strive for a right answer. Everyone makes mistakes, but instead of saying they got it wrong, I try tell them to look at the question again or to think of it a little differently. I'm not going to be the type of tucson">tutor to do the child's homework, but instead encourage them to feel proud of their own work and show them tips and tricks for future situations.
